BBO ( BaB2O4, Barium Borate)
crystal as an electro-optical material has significant advantages over other materials
(e.g. KD*P and LN) in
terms of laser power
handling ability, temperature stability, and substantial freedom from
piezoelectric ringing. It has become the material of choice for high
repetition rate, high power Pockels cells at a very wide range of wavelength from 210nm to 2100nm.
