Fused Silica (SiO2) Windows

Fused silica is the amorphous form of quartz.  Advantages of fused silica material include the extremely good transparency from UV to IR, low coefficient of thermal expansion, large resistance to thermal shock over large temperature excursions, wide thermal operating range and high laser damage threshold. Various high quality HR, AR, and partial reflective coatings are available on fused silica faces.
